Our History - Ferdinando Patermo's Maison
The Boutique, located in Via Atenea n. 19 in Agrigento , has forty years of experience in the artisanal fashion sector behind him. The Maison Patermo, an excellence of Made in Italy , was founded in 1972 in Agrigento in the heart of the Valley of the Temples , the fulcrum of history and traditions, the heart of the Mediterranean, a place of contact and exchange between different peoples and cultures.
Ferdinando Patermo , from a very young age, gave immense proof of his skills and expertise in tailoring, creating his own collections for important boutiques in the province of Agrigento.
After the success achieved, in the early 1980s, Ferdinando received the first job and collaboration proposals from abroad. He therefore decides to move to Germany , where he opens an important fashion Atelier and where he himself produces many collections and collaborates with stylists and fashion producers, acquiring experience in the techniques of cutting, sewing, tanning methods of materials on leather and fur. .
Following the complete training acquired, Ferdinando returns to Agrigento, revolutionizing traditional canons and the way of dressing, proposing new ideas and lines never seen in the city, in the province and throughout Sicily.
In 1984 , the small atelier became a company: it took the name of Patermopelle , and specialized in the creation of exclusive, precious, very high quality garments, with the use mainly of materials such as fine leathers and furs. The new collections achieve great success, both locally and abroad, thanks to the important results obtained in exports to Europe.
In 2004 the company was enriched by an important figure: her daughter Valentina, a fashion designer from the prestigious Milanese Academy "Istituto Europeo di Design". Sensitive and original, Valentina gives a touch of novelty to the company and its productions, dressing the woman, refined and free to live, according to her own personality and needs.
